What was the fashion like?

 A very common material in Rome was wool. Silk and linen wasn’t popular due  to the cost. Men wore Tonga’s to look smart and women wore ankle length tunics. Many used metal body armour which provided a large amount of protection and to prevent discomfort of the heavy metal, the soldiers wore undergarments to limit chafing. Many young children wore knee length tunics but if it was cold they added on a cloak, and a toga with a purple border is what more rich children wore
