What were the baths like?
Baths in rome had mirrors all over the walls, the ceiling was covers in glass and the baths were filled with expensive marble. They bathed one or twice a week, bathing was a time to socialise or conduct business. Some Romans had their own baths in their house but many went to public baths instead. After a men’s day of work, they went to the bath to exercise, play games, meet friends, chat and relax. Every town had a bath area kinda like a really big swimming pool. 170 baths is what rome had during the region of Augustus in 300 A.D. but the number of baths expanded to over 900.
